Posted by: Dicky Erwin Sun July 03, 2016 | Dear Hartley family,
I have known "The Judge" since meeting he and his wife, Betty, at a Georgia football game in the 1970's. They were at the game with my Uncle Doyle and Aunt June. I met them at other games and always enjoyed their company. Later, I would have the privilege of visiting with him and others at "The Dawg House" while they were holding court (as I would put it). Sometimes when I was at home in Perry and call the Dawg House, Uncle Doyle would put him on the phone and we would talk Bulldawg football. I will always cherish these memories of a great husband, father, Judge, friend, and Georgia Bulldawg. |

Posted by: Faye Rustin Tue July 05, 2016 | Ms. Hartley and Family,
I am so sorry for your loss, he was a good person, a christian to be appreciated. I worked at Kaiser in Lyons for ten years, during the time he was President of the Lions Club. I would make calls each week for the members (reminder calls), he was so professional and treated everyone respect. I know he was a friend to our family all my life. He will be missed, please find peace in knowing that he is now at peace. Remember, you will always, always have your memories. |

Posted by: Linda Collins Conley Wed July 06, 2016 | Dear Mrs. Hartley and family,
My first job after graduating from Collins High School in 1964 was with the firm of Sharpe, Sharpe & Hartley. It was a pleasure working with Marvin there for about a year and learning the ropes before moving to Atlanta and then back to Statesboro. I was pleased when I learned that he had become a Superior Court Judge, and I enjoyed seeing Judge Hartley on several occasions when on errands at various courthouses in his circuit. Please accept my sincere condolences for your loss. Linda Conley |
