Mr. Bobby Humphrey, age 78 of Glenwood died Sunday August 30, 2020 after an extended illness. He was a native of the Kibbee Community in Montgomery County but lived in Glenwood for the past 51 years. Bobby was employed by Ailey Manufacturing in both the Ailey and Soperton Plants. He left and then went to work with Oxford Manufacturing Company as a machine Mechanic and was also employed with the Georgia Dept of Corrections Telfair State Prison in facility maintenance until his retirement. After retiring he spent time repairing sewing machines and working on cars and other small projects. Bobby enjoyed listening to classic country music and Elvis Presley Gospel music. He enjoyed spending his free time with friends talking at the local store.
Bobby is preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Mollie Humphrey; three sisters, Bubbie Humphrey Clark, Jane Humphrey Wilcher, and Goldie Humphrey.
Bobby is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Jennifer Humphrey; two sons, Dwayne (Rebecca) Humphrey, and Kaylain Humphrey; four sisters, Carmie Humphrey Foskey of Uvalda, Pat Humphrey Poole Of Uvalda, Elizabeth (Dan) Simpson of Hazlehurst, and Cynthia Manning of Douglas; three sister in laws; Linda (Rusty) Lewis, Brenda (James) Conner, and Meachelle (Jerry) Butler, and his mother in law, Jean Brooks. He is also survived by his grandchildren Sydney (Jacorie) Stuckey, Lauren, Carson, and Spencer Humphrey as well as one great grandchild, Carter Stuckey. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Funeral Services for Mr. Bobby Humphrey will be held Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at 4:30 pm at Bethel Baptist Church with Reverend Nolan McDaniel officiating.
The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 3:00 PM until the funeral hour.
Interment will follow in church cemetery.
