Mr. Carl Wayne Powell, age 67, of Glenwood, died Tuesday afternoon, June 23, 2020 at Hazlehurst Rehab after an extended illness. Carl was a native of Wheeler County and resided in Waycross for most of his life. He was a retired construction worker and was a member of Alston Baptist Church.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Viola Powell.
Carl is survived by two sons, Timothy Wayne Powell of Dublin, and Jeffery Powell of Nahunta; three daughters, Robin Powell of Dublin, Kim Powell of Hazlehurst, and Marla Powell of Michigan; one brother, Ray Powell Jr. (Brenda) of Hazlehurst; and two sisters, Peggy Powell of Scotland, and Vonda Montford (Joe) of Glenwood. Eleven grandchildren, several great children, and many nieces and nephews also survive.
Graveside funeral services for Mr. Carl Wayne Powell will be held Thursday, June 25, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Snowhill Community Church Cemetery with Reverend W.R. Connell officiating. Interment will follow. The family will receive friends for visitation at the cemetery on Thursday, June 25, 2020 from 10:00AM until the hour of service.
