Mrs. Lauraette Jarriel, age 83, of Lyons, died Sunday morning, January 12, 2020 at Oxley Park Health & Rehab of Lyons after a brief illness. Lauraette was a lifelong resident of Toombs County and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Lyons Senior Citizens and a member of East Gordon Street Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for many years. She was a volunteer at Oxley Park Health & Rehab for many years before and after her residency there.
Mrs. Lauraette is preceded in death by her husband, Otis C. Jarriel Sr. in 1997; her parents, Jim and Minnie Lee Lively; and her sister, Sybil Smith.
Mrs. Lauraette is survived by two sons, Jimmy H. Jarriel (Patricia) of Vidalia, and Calvin Jarriel (Sabrina) of Vidalia; one daughter, Kathy Jones (Al) of Lyons; and one sister, Ellen Jackson of Lyons. Six grandchildren, Jaime, Jennifer, Kelly, Clint, Wesley and Ally; Eight great-grandchildren, and several neices and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Mrs. Lauraette Jarriel will be Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at 2:30 PM at East Gordon Street Baptist Church of Lyons with Pastor Bruce Conner officiating. Interment will follow at Old Mt. Zion Cemetery of Lyons. The family will receive friends for visitation Tuesday, January 14, 2020 at Ronnie L. Stewart Funeral Service Vidalia Chapel from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to East Gordon Street Baptist Church, 167 East Gordon Avenue, Lyons, Georgia 30436.
Ronnie L. Stewart Funeral Service Vidalia Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Jimmy, Calvin & Kathy and all the rest of the family we sure do hate your lose.But Lauraette lived a good rich life and had children, grandchildren and great grands all around her.I would say she had a BLESSED LIFE. We love you all.May you rest in the arms of JESUS.

So sorry to hear about Ms Laurette.
Got to know her real well when she would come to the gym i had at the time.
She was a real sweet and smart lady and she raised some sweet and smart children too.
