Mrs. Mildred Kersey, age 73, of Glenwood died Friday morning September 14, 2018 at her residence under the care of Community Hospice after an extended illness. Mildred was a native and lifelong resident of Wheeler County, and was a homemaker. She loved flowers, was an avid reader, and loved spending time with her family, especially the grandchildren. Mildred was Baptist by Faith.
Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, Felton Kersey; two sons, Edward Lee Coleman, and Jessie James Coleman; and her parents, Ira J. Hutcheson, and Lavada Warren.
Mildred is survived by three daughters, Marie Lowie (John) of Alamo, Ruby Lord of Glenwood, and Pearl Champion of Alamo; eleven grandchildren, Rodney, Chelsea, Ruben, Ira Jay, Holly, Billy, Ashly, Christopher, Virginia, Jessica and Bud. Numerous great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Mildred Kersey will be held Monday September 17, 2018 at Stewart-Rosier Funeral Service Glenwood Chapel at 3:00 PM with Reverend Ladon Connell officiating. Interment will follow at Rosemont Cemetery in Soperton. The family will receive friends on Sunday evening at Stewart-Rosier Funeral Service Glenwood Chapel from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
