Mr. Dale E. Yarbrough, age 68, of Lyons died Tuesday August 21, 2018 at his residence after a sudden illness. He was a native and lifelong resident of Lyons.
In his early years Mr. Yarbrough worked at the Pal Theatre in Lyons as a projectionist. He later worked at Lockheed Martin of Marietta and he worked many years for Toombs County EMA where he was a Jaws of Life operator. He retired from Southern Nuclear with many years of service as an I & C Foreman. Dale was an amateur Ham Radio operator who communicated to many friends with the call sign AE4DY; he was a member of Vidalia/Lyons Moose Lodge #1281; and he was a member of Lyons United Methodist Church.
Mr. Yarbrough is preceded in death by his parents, Billy and Virginia Yarbrough.
Dale is survived by his son, Eric Yarbrough of Atlanta; two daughters, Alicia Yarbrough of Atlanta and Andrea Yarbrough of Augusta; two brothers, Billy Yarbrough III of St. Simons and Mitchell Yarbrough of Macon; and his sister, Rebecca Yarbrough Tindall of St. Simons.
Memorial Services for Dale E. Yarbrough will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, August 23, 2018 at Stewart-Rosier Funeral Service Lyons Chapel with Reverend Chip Strickland officiating. Interment will follow privately at Lyons City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday morning from 9:30 AM until the hour of the service.
Stewart-Rosier Funeral Service Lyons Chapel is in charge of funeral arrangements.

I am so sad to hear of Dale's passing. I have fond memories of our days with our Dad's ownining businesses in downtown Lyons. I pray that God will bring you comfort and peace thru you memories during the days to come.

I can still remember hanging around with Dale at the Pal and at their home behind the Pal. His dad was also one of the best and I'm sure he learned so much from him. Although I moved away to Vidalia the memories remained. God bless you Dale.

Mr. Dale was a a kind, caring, soul. He worked at Plant Hatch with my father and grandfather. I met him only about 3 years ago and I am thankful for all of our long talks. He will be greatly missed. I wish I lived closer and could attend services. His family is in my thoughts and prayers.
