Barbara Ann Stapleton Kight, age 75, of Glenwood died Wednesday July 4, 2018 at Oxley Park Health and Rehab of Lyons after an extended illness. Mrs. Kight was a native of South Carolina; had previously lived in Toombs and Montgomery Counties; and had resided in Glenwood for the past 30 years. She was a homemaker who loved gardening, cooking and sewing. She attended Cedar Grove Pentecostal Church of God.
Mrs. Kight is preceded in death by her parents, James and Lois Stapleton; her husband Robbie Dell Kight; her son Tony Kight; and her brother, James Marshall Stapleton.
Barbara is survived by her son, Dell Kight (Becky) of Alston; two daughters, Cindy Kight Steverson of Douglas and Sandy Ogle of Glenwood; five grandchildren, Katlyn Kight (Caleb) Wickstrom, Mandy Kight, Colt Kight, Christian Andrew Steverson, and Josh Willis; three great-grandcildren, Jayce Nazworth, Jaxon Wickstrom, and Eliza Jane Willis; her fiancé, Ronald Grimes of Glenwood; three step-children, Lisa (Eddie) Floyd, Ronda (Tim)Dayhoff, and Susanne Grimes; and seven step-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Barbara Ann Stapleton Kight will be held Saturday, July 7, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Stewart-Rosier Funeral Service Vidalia Chapel with Pastor Scott Davidson, Pastor Cliff Kirkland and Pastor Milton Pate officiating. Interment will follow at South Thompson Baptist Church. The family will receive friends for visitation at the funeral home Friday, July 6, 2018 from 6:00- 8:00 PM.
