Dr. William Michael Brown, age 54, of Alamo died early Friday morning November 10, 2017 at Piedmont Hospital of Atlanta after an extended illness.

Dr. Brown was a native of Wheeler County.  After graduating from Wheeler County High School he attended Brewton Parker College where he received his Bachelor’s Degree.  He received his Master’s Degree from Georgia Southern University and his Doctorate Degree from Nova University in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.  During the course of his Educational Career, Dr. Brown taught in many areas before retiring in 2008.  He moved back to Alamo in 2016.  He was Church of God by faith.

Dr. Brown is preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Brown in 2003; his grandmother, Mary Brown in 2003; and his grandfather, Will Brown in 1972.

He is survived by his companion, Darrell Johnson of Alamo; his son, James Michael Brown of Alamo; his father and step-mother, William and Jeanette Brown of Glenwood; and his brother, Jimmy Darron Brown of Glenwood.

Funeral services for Dr. William Michael Brown will be held Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Stewart-Rosier Funeral Service Glenwood Chapel with Reverend James Fennell and Reverend Ronnie Saxon officiating. Interment will follow in Edge Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation at the funeral home in Glenwood Monday evening from 6:00  - 8:00 PM.
