Mrs. Maria Quintero, better known as “Ama”, age 81, of Lyons, died Wednesday evening November 1, 2017 at her residence under the care of Community Hospice after an extended illness. She was a native of Texas, living in Lyons for the last 38 years. Maria was a homemaker and attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her son, Doroteo Quintero.
Survivors include her husband of 65 years Ramon Quintero; 11 children, Jesus (Janie) Quintero, Ramon Quintero Jr., Cervando (Lydia) Quintero, Fransisco Quintero Sr., Eloy (Elvira) Quintero, Alberto Quintero, Rosie (Billy) Hester, Efrain (Rosemary) Quintero, Selestino (Elvira) Quintero, Prisila (Henry) Reyes, and Emilio Quintero, all of Lyons. One hundred plus grandchildren, and numerous great and great-great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services for Mrs. Maria “Ama” Quintero will be held Saturday, November 4, 2017, at 11:00 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Ben Dallas officiating. Interment will follow at the Lyons City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Stewart-Rosier Funeral Service Lyons Chapel Friday afternoon beginning at 1:00 pm. A Rosary Service will be held at Stewart-Rosier Funeral Service Lyons Chapel on Friday, November 3, 2017 at 8:00 pm.
Stewart-Rosier Funeral Service Lyons Chapel is in charge of funeral arrangements.

To the Quintero Family,
So sorry to hear of the loss of Mrs. Maria. My husband and I have worked along side some of you, and we are deeply sorry for your loss. We too have lost loved ones and know how it feels. May God give you the peace and comfort that only HE can give.
