Mr. Horace Claxton, age 89, of Savannah, Georgia died early Saturday morning, March 12, 2016, after a brief illness.
Mr. Claxton was a native of Uvalda and lived in Savannah for the past 65 years. He was retired from Union Camp; a U. S. Army veteran, having served in World War II in Germany; and was Baptist by faith.
Mr. Claxton is survived by his wife, Eula Claxton, of Savannah; two sons, William Claxton of Commerce and Jerry Claxton of Milledgeville; one daughter, Pam Williams of Columbia, SC; one brother, James T. Claxton of Tarrytown; four sisters, Hortense Barnes of Brunswick; Velma Bryan of Ellabell; Dorothy Day of Uvalda; and Sandra Clark of Uvalda; and three grandchildren, Katie Holmes of Columbia, S.C., Zachary Claxton of Woodstock, and Alex Williams of Ft. Worth, TX.
Graveside Services for Mr. Horace Claxton will be Monday, March 14, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at Sharpe Cemetery with B. H. Claxton officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday, March 13, at Stewart Rosier Funeral Service Vidalia Chapel 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.
