Mrs. Alene Smith Johnson, age 81, of Glenwood died Thursday, February 18, 2016 at her residence after an extended illness.
Mrs. Johnson was a native and lifelong resident of Glenwood. She was retired from the Georgia Department of Transportation, Tifton Office, and a member of Glenwood United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Johnson is preceded in death by her husband, Travis David Johnson, in 1952; her parents, Tom and Lilliah Smith; two brothers, Ray Smith and Alston Smith; and one sister, Cora Tootle.
Mrs. Johnson is survived by several nieces and nephews; several great-nieces and nephews; and several great-great-nieces and nephews. Many other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral services for Mrs. Alene Smith Johnson will be Sunday, February 21, 2016, at 2:00 pm at Glenwood United Methodist Church with Reverend Ron Wommack and Reverend Greg Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Stewart Rosier Funeral Service Glenwood Chapel Saturday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
