Mr. Cedric “Mac” Mallard of Vidalia, born August 13, 1946, passed away Thursday, September 03, 2015 at Community Hospice of Vidalia after a brief illness. He was 69 years old. Was born in Georgetown S.C. but had resided in Vidalia for the past several years. He was Baptist by Faith.
Mac was a retired truck driver and previous owner/operator of Sweet Onion Taxi Cab Company in Vidalia and Lyons. Mac was a very passionate man who was loved by many people. Mac enjoyed hunting and fishing and big family dinners with his family. He also enjoyed watching wrestling.
He is preceded in death by mother, father, two brothers and his daughter, Mary Mallard.
Mac is survived by his wife of 23 years, Betty Ann Faircloth Mallard of Vidalia; four sons, James and Heather Mallard of Vidalia, Johnny and Denise Osborne of Vidalia, Bruce and Kami Osborne of Oak Park, and Austin Harden of Vidalia; his daughter, Kelby Mallard of Vidalia; ten grandchildren, Beverly Braunsdorf, Ashley Kramer-Hester, Patricia Newhart, Cody Mallard, Johnny Osborne Jr., T.J. Mallard, Heather Osborne, Chance Osborne, Megan Osborne, and Kaylee Clark; and eight great-grandchildren, Chloe, Cadence, Landon, Reid, Ryleigh, Avery, Gabriel and Charleigh. Mac has several nieces and nephews and he was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to all.

Funeral Services for Mr. Cedric “Mac” Mallard will be held Sunday, September 6, 2015 at 3:00 PM at Stewart-Rosier Funeral Service Vidalia Chapel with Reverend Albert White officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday evening from 6-9 pm.
