Mrs. Louise Holmes, age 96, of Lyons died early Wednesday morning June 24, 2015 at the Oaks Bethany of Vidalia after an extended illness.  

Mrs. Holmes was a native and lifelong resident of Toombs County. She retired as the owner and operator of the Bulldog Restaurant in Lyons and was a member of the Ladies Coffee Club of Lyons and Lyons First Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by two husbands, Tommy W. Strickland and Robert L. Holmes.

She is survived by her daughter, Jean Hare of Clinton, Missouri; three sons, Wilbur Strickland and wife Judy of Lyons, Harold Strickland and wife Gwen of Vidalia and Greg Strickland and wife Gwen of Claxton; her sister, Christine Evans of Vidalia; twelve grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Funeral service for Mrs. Louise Holmes will be held Monday June 29, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Lyons First Baptist Church with Reverend Dannie Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday evening from 6 until 8 PM.
