Ruth Sturdivant McDonald, age 92, of Vidalia died Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at Community Hospice of Vidalia after a brief illness.
She was a native of Meridian Mississippi and had lived in Vidalia for the past 35 years. Ruth retired as a Civil Service employee; was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Vidalia where she was a member of the Joy Senior Group.
Ruth is preceded in death by her husband W. Jay McDonald in 2008.
She is survived by her son, Larry Jay McDonald of Jacksonville, FL; her daughter, Lynette McDonald Maxey of Athens, GA; her brother, Robert V. Sturdivant Jr. of Carey, NC; and her sister Ouida Bruce of Meridian MS.
Four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren also survive.
A Crypt site Committal Service will be held at a later date in Athens, Ga.
Stewart-Rosier Funeral Service Vidalia Chapel is in charge of funeral arrangements.
