I wish to express to all of Don's family and friends what mixed emotions I have about Don's passing. I have been saddened for some time now about Don's failing health and certainly morn his passing. However, I believe there is a silver lining here that we should all remember, Don is no longer in pain and is in a place where he will never have a pain or worry, ever again...praise God!!
Don and I have known each other almost all our lives...he was just a few months younger than me and my dad took us from Texas back to Georgia to visit his family from when I was very small and we did so many times. Don and I had about 45 first cousins on the Conner side of the family and I will say that Don was one of my favorites because we always had so much fun when we were together. I the mid '50s Don came to Houston to finish high school where I was going to school and he lived next door to me with our Grandmother Conner, so he and I became even closer friends during that time. We kept in touch after that, visiting each other from time to time and at family reunions. We continued occasional visits until just 3 or 4 years ago and contacted each other through E mail till he got really ill. Don, you will be missed cuz... jer
