Mr. Jim Hall Pye, age 82, of Lyons died Thursday, March 26, 2015, at Clearview Regional Hospital of Monroe, Georgia after a brief illness.
Jim was a native and lifelong resident of Lyons. He was a retired logger
and a security guard for Pinkerton Security Forces. He was a member of the V.F.W. and attended Lyons First Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the United States Army where he served in the Korean War.
Mr. Pye is preceded in death by his wife, Erna Louise Pye; a daughter, Violet Salter; a son, Byron Case; nine siblings and his parents, Claude and Ethel Pye.
He is survived by two sons, Chesley Pye and wife Lisa of Madison, Georgia and Kenneth Case of South Carolina; two daughters, Jennie Clark of South Carolina and Kathy Summersill of Georgia; one brother, Jack Pye of Brooklet, Georgia; two sisters, Laura Kate Jones of Lyons, Georgia and Merle Wilkes of Lyons, Georgia; eleven grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. Jim Hall Pye will be held Sunday, March 29, 2015, at Stewart-Rosier Funeral Service Lyons Chapel at 2:00 P.M. with Reverend Dannie Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday evening from 6:00-8:00 P.M.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to Charlie Norwood VA of Augusta, 1 Freedom Way Augusta, Georgia 30904.
