Mr. James Henry “Jim” Darden, age 77, of Johnson Corner died early Saturday morning November 22, 2014 at Tattnall Healthcare of Reidsville after an extended illness.
James is a native and lifelong resident of Toombs County. He retired after working many years at Piggly Wiggly Southern. He was Baptist by faith.
Mr. Darden is preceded in death by his parents, Geneva and Johnnie Darden; and siblings, Sallie Darden, Rose Powell and Johnnie Darden Jr.
He is survived by the mother of his children, Mary Julia Peggy Ann Morris Darden of Lyons; three children, James Malcolm Darden of Johnson Corner, Mark Anthony Darden of Johnson Corner and John Wayne Darden of Statesboro; six siblings, Jean Smith of Georgetown, Daisy Panick of Oak Park, Evelyn Herring and husband Richard of Lyons, Christine Cone and husband Henry of Lyons, Billy Darden and wife Marilyn of Lyons and Jackie Darden and wife Miriam of Lyons; and three grandchildren. Several nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.
Funeral Services for Mr. James Henry Darden will be held Monday, November 24, 2014 at 10:00 AM at Stewart-Rosier Funeral Service Lyons Chapel with Reverend Bobby English officiating. Interment will follow in Pinecrest Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 pm.

Dear Chris,
We are so sorry to hear of your brother's passing. Share our
condolence to your family, especially Daisy. Call if you feel like
talking. Wendell had a doctor's appointment this a.m. at 10:00.
