Mr. Jose Cruz, age 82, of Lyons died Friday May 9, 2014 at his residence after an extended illness.
Mr. Cruz was a native of Mexico and had resided in Lyons for the past 32 years. He was a crew leader at Stanley Farms and was Catholic by Faith.
Jose is survived by his wife, Lucia Cruz of Lyons; six sons, Jose Cruz Jr. of Dade City FL, Raul Cruz of Dade City FL, Jamie Cruz of Lyons, Oscar Cruz of Lyons, Richard Cruz of Lyons and Armando Cruz of Lyons; four daughters, Mary Cruz of Lyons, Lucy Cruz of Lyons, Amelia Cruz of Lyons, and Claudia Prado of Palm Coast FL; three brothers, Fortunato Cruz of San Antonio TX, Manuel Cruz of San Antonio TX and Samuel Cruz of Lyons; and three sisters, Beatrice Dehoyos, Gaudalupe Herrera and Oralia Lafolla, all of San Antonio TX. Forty grandchildren and fifty three great-grandchildren also survive.
The Funeral Mass for Mr. Jose Cruz will be held Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Ben Dallas officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday beginning at
10 AM with a Rosary Service scheduled 7:00 PM.
