Mr. Herbert Dean Boyd, age 71, of Vidalia died late Wednesday night
April 2, 2014 at Meadows Regional Medical Center of Vidalia after a sudden illness.
Mr. Boyd was a Native of Emanuel County and lived most of his life in Vidalia. He was a retired truck driver and Church of God by faith.
Herbert is preceded in death by his son, Michael Anthony in 1987.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Boyd of Vidalia; two sons, Randall Dean Boyd of Lyons and Brian Keith Boyd of North Augusta SC; and two grandchildren, Michael Keith Boyd and Kassidy Tomae, both of North Augusta.
Funeral services for Mr. Herbert Dean Boyd will be held Friday, April 4, 2014, at 3:00 PM at the Stewart-Rosier Funeral Service Vidalia Chapel with Reverend Dan Tomberlin officiating. Interment will follow in Pinecrest Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 6-8 PM.
The family will gather at the residence of his sister-in-law Faye at 1813B Aimwell Blvd of Vidalia.
Stewart-Rosier Funeral Service of Vidalia is in charge of the funeral arrangements.

Joyce, Keith, Michael and Kassidy,
We will all miss Mr. Herbert. He was a very kind man to our grandchildren and both Carson and Dalton enjoyed spending time at your house. We will miss seeing him. He along with all of you have become special to our family. Praying for God's peace and understanding.

Dear Joyce and Family, I'm so sorry to hear of the passing of Herbert. I pray now and in the days ahead that you will be comforted and kept in God's perfect peace. Please let the children know we are praying for them.

Joyce, I am sorry for your loss. Herbert and I were friends all the way back to elementary school in Oak Park. It haas been several years since I had any contact with him ut I used to see him occasionally when I was in Vidalia.

Joyce, I am so sorry to hear of Herbert's passing. I'm sorry I missed the visitation, but I had another committment at the same time. I love you and will be praying for you in next few weeks. May God's peace be with you during this time of grief. If you need anything at all, just call me. I'm here for you.
