Maxwell Martin, age 83, of Lyons died Thursday afternoon February 20, 2014 at Oxley Park Health and Rehab of Lyons after an extended illness.
Mr. Martin was a native and lifelong resident of Toombs County, and a retired heavy equipment mechanic of Toombs County for 30 years. He was the owner and operator of Martins Deep Well Service.
He is preceded in death by his son, Dennis Martin in 1961.
Maxwell is survived by his wife, Mackie Lou Martin of Lyons; daughter Karen Blackman and her husband Ed of Lyons; one grandson Chad Newman of Lyons, and one granddaughter Lauren Newman of Hazlehurst.
Graveside funeral service for Mr. Maxwell Martin will be held Sunday, February 23, 2014 at 3:00 PM at Hardens Chapel Cemetery with Dr. Bill Vansant officiating.
Stewart-Rosier Funeral Service of Lyons is in charge of funeral arrangements.
