Darlene Wright Watson, age 82, of Lyons died early Sunday morning, February 17, 2013 at Oxley Park Health and Rehab of Lyons after an extended struggle with Alzheimer’s.
She was born in Florida, raised in Toombs County, lived most of her married life in Faulkville and returned back to Toombs County almost 20 years ago. She retired from Gulf Stream as a LPN and was a member of East Gordon Street Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband W. Edward Watson, her daughter Elizabeth Marie Watson and her grandson Eddie Watson.
Mrs. Watson is survived by her son, Leo Watson of Savannah; two grandchildren, Jessica Watson of Savannah and Joshua Watson and Shan-tel of Nebraska; one great-grandson, Keyan; three great-granddaughters, Aleaha, Gabrienne and Adrienne.
Memorial services for Darlene Wright Watson will be held Sunday afternoon February 24, 2013 at 2:00 PM from Vidalia Seventh-day Adventist Church located at 132 Pinewood Drive Vidalia with Pastor Stephen Murdock and Reverend Dane Glisson officiating. Interment will follow in the Lyons City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Church from 6 until 8:00 PM Saturday evening.
