Mr. Benjamin McCoy Johnson, age 78, of Garden City died early Wednesday morning at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah after an extended illness.

Mr. Johnson was a native of Bellville Ga.  He resided most of his life in Garden City and was a merchant seaman.  He was Methodist by faith.

Mr. Johnson is survived by his wife, Sonia Johnson of Garden City and several other relatives and friends.  

Funeral Services for Mr. Benjamin McCoy Johnson will be held Saturday morning January 19, 2013 at 11:00 from the Fairhaven Funeral Home Chapel in Garden City with Pastor Jessie Pamplona officiating.  Interment will follow in the Glenwood City Cemetery at 2:30 PM.  The family will receive friends at Fairhaven Funeral Home in Garden City beginning at 10:00 AM on Saturday.
