On Tuesday October 1, 2019, Marion {Mac} McAlhaney, loving husband and father of three passed away at the age of 81 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Born to Bubb and Carrie Irene McAlhaney, Mac spent his childhood growing up in Varnville, South Carolina. Later in life he decided to dedicate his life to serving his country. Mac spent 28 years in the Air Force and was stationed all around the world in England, Turkey, Guam, Greece, Oklahoma, Georgia and finally retiring from his service career in the Air Force in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He then continued his dedication to government service and to others with 24 additional years in Civil Service as a satellite engineer.
If you were fortunate enough to have known him and had the opportunity to ask him what he felt his greatest accomplishment was, he would have told you it was when he married the love of his life, Judy Conner, on September 25, 1966. They celebrated 53 blissful, loving and memorable years of marriage together before his passing.
Marion “Mac” McAlhaney is survived by his loving wife, Judy; two daughters, Diedre and Shana, and one son, Christopher. He is also survived by two nephews David and Ricky, and seven grandchildren.
Funeral Services for Mr. Marion “Mac” McAlhaney will be held Saturday, October 12, 2019 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel at Ronnie L Stewart Funeral Home. Rev Jim Snell will be officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation Saturday October 12, 2019 for two hours prior to service time at Ronnie L Stewart Funeral Service Vidalia Chapel.
Interment will follow at Sharpe Cemetery with full Military Honors.
