Mr. Carl J. Rogers, age 87, of Glenwood, went home to be with our Lord in the late hours on Friday Night at Community Hospice of Vidalia after an extended illness.  Mr. Rogers was a native and lifelong resident of Wheeler County. Mr. Rogers was a retired motor grader operator for Wheeler County and was also a US Army Veteran from the Korean Conflict. Mr. Rogers was Methodist by faith.

Mr. Rogers is preceded in death by his wife Colleen Coleman of 38 years in 2012, One son Stephen Rogers, one brother Charles Rogers, and two sisters Carol L. Shifflett, and Charlotte NeeSmith.

Mr. Rogers is survived by one son Carl Ray {Mitzi} Rogers of Glenwood, one stepson James {Bette} Paul of Glenwood, one daughter, Carla Rogers of Glenwood, nine grandchildren, Fletcher, Justin, Hannah, C.J., Jaycee, Ashley, Kelsey, Jordan, and Parker, and seven great grandchildren.

Funeral Services for Mr. Rogers will be held Monday, August 5, 2019 at 3:00 PM Ronnie L. Stewart Funeral Service Glenwood Chapel with Reverend W. R. Connell and Billy Lee officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation from 1:00 PM Monday Until the Funeral hour. Internment will follow at Edge Memorial Cemetery.
