Mrs. Charlene Oliver Byrne, age 47, of Wheeler County was called home to be with Jesus late Sunday night November 11, 2018 at Memorial Health of Savannah after a brief illness.
Mrs. Byrne was a native and lifelong resident of Wheeler County. She was a homemaker who loved raising her children and spending time with her family, especially her nieces and nephews. She served in the National Guard for seven years, loved gardening, was an avid animal lover, and was Christian by Faith. Two of her favorite hobbies was collecting Coca-Cola memorabilia and antiquing.
Mrs. Byrne is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Cherry Ann Oliver; and her grandparents, Claude and Pearl Jackson and Homer and Velma B. Oliver.
Charlene is survived by her husband, Richard Byrne of Alamo; her son, Glesias Oliver of Alamo; her daughter, Sarah Ann Oliver of Alamo; five brothers, Rayburn Oliver(Michelle) of Lyons, Shannon Oliver of Lyons, Nathan Oliver (Jen Lunde) of Gainesville, Quentin Thornton (Ashley) of Ailey and Dustin Thornton (Nicole) of Alamo; six sisters, Melissa Clark (Danny) of Glenwood, Amy Horne (Glynn) of Glenwood, Kristie Scott (Chris) of Glenwood, Cindy Vann (Todd) of Glenwood, Heather Ricks (Jamie) of Alamo, Sara Clark (Alex) of Alamo; and three step-children, Chris Byrne of Baxley, Josh Byrne of Baxley and Jessica Cruz of Lyons. Several grandchildren also survive.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Charlene Oliver Byrne will be held Thursday November 15, 2018 at 3:00 PM at Stewart-Rosier Funeral Service Vidalia Chapel with Robbie Rosier officiating. Interment will follow at Glenwood City Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation at the Vidalia Chapel on Wednesday evening November 14, 2018 from 5:00 until 8:00PM.
