Mrs. Oda Mae Biddle, age 72, of Vidalia died Thursday afternoon September 6, 2018, at St. Joseph’s-Candler of Savannah after an extended illness.
Oda was a native of Tennessee and had lived in Vidalia since 1977. She was a restaurant owner and operator having opened the first sub shop in Vidalia in 1980. The sub shop was opened in several locations before she settled on North Street where the shop was operated for the past 19 years. Oda prided herself in naming her famous hamburger as the world’s worst hamburger and her pancakes as the world’s largest pancakes. She was Baptist by faith,
Oda is preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Biddle in 2001; her parents; two brothers and three sisters.
She is survived by three sons, Drexel Biddle (Brenda) of Hawkinsville, David Allen Biddle (Lori) of Vidalia and Dennis William Biddle (Jeannie) of Vidalia; her brother, William Gale Jr.; and five sisters, Linda, Mable, Peggy, Shirley and Sis. Nine grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Oda Mae Biddle will be held Tuesday September 11, 2018 at Stewart-Rosier Funeral Service Vidalia Chapel at 11:00 AM with Reverend Rodney Gibbs and Reverend Mike Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends for visitation at the funeral home Monday September 10, 2018 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
