Mr. William Howard Cannon, age 77, of Cobbtown died Thursday afternoon, July 19 2018 at Oxley Park Health and Rehab after an extended illness. William was a native of Kannapolis N.C. living in Cobbtown the last 4 years. He was a retired foreman with Bechtel Company and Veteran of the United States Army serving during the Vietnam War. He was a Mason and a member of Ocean View United Methodist Church in Oak Island N.C.

Mr. William is preceded in death by a stepson in 2016, Matthew Porter.

Mr. William is survived by his wife, Laverne Lockley Cannon of Cobbtown; one son, Mark Cannon of Salisbury N.C.; two stepsons, Jonathan Porter of Mt. Dora Fl. And Christopher Porter of New Ellenton S.C.; one sister, Pam Carter of Kannapolis N.C.; one grandson, Chase Cannon of Salisbury N.C.; and 6 step-grandchildren, Mars, Raiden, Peyton, Sawyer, Korbin and Konner Porter.
