Mr. John “Cap” Couey, age 79, of Glenwood died early Wednesday morning January 10, 2018, at Fairview Park Hospital of Dublin after an extended illness. John was a native of Glenwood, living many years in West Palm Beach FL. before returning to Glenwood in 1991. He worked for 28 years at United Technologies where he retired as a Sr. Media Specialist. He was Baptist by Faith.
John is preceded in death by his brothers; Sid Couey in 2017, and William Couey in 2013; and his parents, Claude B. and Cora Couey.
John is survived by his wife of 31 years, Faye Couey of Glenwood; four sons, Ronnie Couey (Jill) of Wellington FL, Charles Pickle of Andersonville, Glen Pickle, and George Pickle, both of Americus; two daughters, Rhonda Brisson (Danny) of Green Acres FL, and Sheila Gallo (Chris) of Lantana FL; one brother, Tony Couey (Mary Jo) of Birmingham AL; one sister, Jo Ann Pickle (Edward) of Americus; three grandchildren, Brittany Gallo, Brian Brisson, and Christopher Gallo; nine step-grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Services will be scheduled at a later date.
Stewart-Rosier Funeral Glenwood Chapel is in charge of funeral arrangements.
