Mrs. Lluuana Williams, age 86, of the South Thompson Community went home to be with Jesus and her husband on January 10, 2018 at her daughter’s residence after an extended illness.
Mrs. Williams was born in Toombs County on June 19, 1931 to Dannie and Betty Louise Thompson. She lived in Atlanta for many years early in her life. Shortly after she graduated from High School in Atlanta she married her husband Jack in 1949. Just a few years later they moved back to Toombs County where she became a homemaker. Lluuana was a member of Beta Sigma Phi and was a founding member of the Chatters Coffee Club. She was a member of South Thompson Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for most of her life.
Mrs. Williams is preceded in death by her husband, Jack “Coogan” Williams in 1987 and two daughters, Betty Gail Williams and Infant Girl Williams; her sister, Wyl Gossett; and her nephew Larry Gossett.
She is survived by four sons, Jack Coogan Williams Jr. of Charlotte NC, Reverend Dannie Williams (Gwen) of Lyons, Senator Tommie Williams (Stephanie) of Lyons, and Clint Williams (Teri) of Lyons; her daughter, Nancy Stanley (James) of Lyons; eighteen grandchildren, Molly Williams, Sarah McMillan (John Mark), John Williams (Emily), Andrew Williams (Sarah), Stephen Williams (Evane), Abigail Soentgerath (Chris), Mindy Morrison (Scott), Emily Williams, Madison Durrence, Emma Kate Williams, Jack Williams, Matthew Stanley, Jesslyn Stanley, Leah Watson (Clint), Anna Bullard (Noah), Erin Banks (Canaan), Micah Williams (Candace), Ruth English (Mason); twenty-three great-grandchildren. Many other nieces, nephews, and other family members also survive.
Funeral services for Mrs. Lluuana Williams will be held Saturday January 13, 2018 at 3:00 PM at South Thompson Baptist Church with Reverend Dannie Williams officiating. Interment will follow at South Thompson Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at South Thompson Baptist Church on Saturday afternoon from 12:30 PM until 2:30 PM.
In lieu of flowers the family request memorial donations be made in her memory to the Mercy Clinic, 715-1 Northwest Broad Street, Lyons, GA 30436.
