Mr. Van Page, age 70, of Vidalia died on Monday, May 29, 2017 at University Hospital of Augusta after a brief illness. Van was a native and lifelong resident of Toombs County. He was an architect and Veteran of the United States Army serving in the Vietnam War. Van was a member of the Vidalia Presbyterian Church where he served as Sunday School Superintendent for many years. He also served as president of the Presbyterian Retirement Home in Swainsboro for many years and was a member of the American Legion.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Alteen Lockley; and his son, Hope Achenbach.
He is survived by his wife, Joy Page; his daughter, Wendy (Todd) Meeks, and three grandchildren; Alyson Alligood, Deanna Glisson, and Maggie Meeks; his brother, Maynard Lockley of Lyons; and two sisters, Melisa Branch of Vidalia and Millie Lockley of Rome.
Funeral services for Mr. Van Page will be held Friday June 2, 2017 at 5:00 PM at Stewart-Rosier Funeral Service Vidalia Chapel with Reverend Robert Green officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Friday June 2, 2017 from 3:00 PM until the hour of the service.
