Ms. Bonnie E. Rogers, age 79, of Montgomery County died Wednesday, December 7, 2016, after a brief illness. Ms. Rogers was born in Hamilton, Mississippi, and was Baptist by faith. She was a devoted mother of eight children and worked as a homemaker most of her life.
Survivors include her son, Walter and Sarah Rogers of South Carolina; son, Ricky and Judy Rogers of Alston, son Randy and Cathy Rogers of Soperton, and son Ronald and Tracey Rogers of Mt. Vernon; daughters, Belinda Rogers Whirley of Mt. Vernon and Beverly Rogers O’Conner and Van Lamb of Mt. Vernon; Carla Rogers of Glenwood and Ray Rogers of Glenwood; life companion, Mr. Carl J. Rogers; 23 Grandchildren; 58 Great-grandchildren; 12 Great-great grandchildren; two brothers, Audie and Wendell West of Mt. Vernon; and one sister, Betty Bell of Vidalia. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Ms. Rogers was preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Lennie West; and two sisters, Hazel Finch and Peggy Guinn.
Funeral services for Ms. Bonnie Rogers will be Saturday, December 10, 2016, at 3:00 pm at Stewart-Rosier Funeral Service Vidalia Chapel with Reverend Brian Patrick officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Vernon Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Stewart-Rosier Funeral Service Vidalia Chapel Saturday afternoon from 1:00 pm until the hour of the service.
