Mr. Mark “Bird” Dawkins, age 57, of Lyons died Friday morning, August 19, 2016, at Community Hospice of Vidalia after an extended illness.  

Mr. Dawkins was a native of Homestead, FL, living most of his life in Lyons, GA.  He was a retired commercial truck driver and Baptist by faith.

Mr. Dawkins was preceded in death by his parents, George and Margie Bell Dawkins, and brother-in-law, Bill Wimberly.

He is survived by his wife, Lori Dawkins of Lyons; one son, Shane Allen of Alabama; one stepson, Michael D. Brown Jr. of Tennille; one stepdaughter, Kayla Brown (Ephriam Swain) of Sandersville; three brothers-in-law, Robert Rosier (Carol) of McNatt Falls, Roger Wimberly (Pam) of Vidalia, and Buddy Wimberly (Tonya) of Johnson Corner; and sister-in-law, Mollie Wimberly. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

A memorial service for Mr. Mark “Bird” Dawkins will be held Monday, August 22, 2016, at 6:00 PM at Stewart Rosier Funeral Service Lyons Chapel with Robbie Rosier officiating.  The Family will receive friends following the service.
