Mrs. Betty Jean “Jane” Humphrey Wilcher, age 83, of Glenwood died early Thursday morning, July 21, 2016, at Fairview Park Hospital of Dublin after a brief illness.
Mrs. Wilcher was a native of the Kibbee Community in Montgomery County, living most of her life in the Stuckey Community of Wheeler County. She was a homemaker, a former graduate of Kibbee High School, and a long-time member of Stuckey Baptist Church where she actively served in the WMU.
Mrs. Wilcher is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Martin Wilcher (June 23, 2016); her infant daughter, Sonja Jean Wilcher; her parents, William “Bill” Clarence and Mollie Humphrey; and her sister, Boobie Clark.
Mrs. Wilcher is survived by her son, Gregory Wilcher (Kaye) of Glenwood; one brother, Bob Humphrey (Jennifer) of Glenwood; five sisters, Carmie Foskey (Hollis) of Uvalda, Pat Poole (Joe) of Uvalda, Goldie Humphrey of Vidalia, Elizabeth Simpson (Dan) of Hazlehurst, and Cynthia Manning of Douglas; two grandchildren, Kyle Wilcher of Warner Robins and Kasey (Joseph) Page of Glenwood; and one brother-in-law, Raybon Clark of Uvalda. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Betty Jean “Jane” Humphrey Wilcher will be held Saturday, July 23, 2016 at 3:00 PM at Stuckey Baptist Church with Reverend Glenn Waters and Reverend Randall Gibbs officiating. Interment will follow at the Stuckey Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday afternoon at the church from 1:00 pm until the time of the service.
