Mr. Rabun G. Way, age 80, of Reidsville died Friday morning December 11, 2015 at Meadows Park Health and Rehab of Vidalia after a brief illness.
Mr. Way was a native of Treutlen County, lived most of his life in Mt. Vernon and had resided in Reidsville since 2010. He was the Owner and President of Way Acceptance Company Inc. of Vidalia and a Veteran of the United States Army. He was a charter member of College Hill Baptist Church of Mt. Vernon where he served many years as a deacon.
Mr. Way is preceded in death by two children, Luci Currie Way and Ray Way; and his wife Sandra Harbin Way.
Rabun is survived by his wife, Faye B. Way of Reidsville; four daughters, Taryn Way Washinger and husband Toby of Vidalia, Gina Way Kennedy and husband Bill of Swainsboro, Roxanne Durrence and husband Brent of Reidsville, and Charla Nail and husband Dewey of Reidsville; his son, Robert Balkcom and wife Nicole of Reidsville; and ten grandchildren, Anna Currie Washinger of Statesboro, Avery Allan Washinger of Vidalia, Daniel Luke Kennedy of Watkinsville, Landon Way Kennedy of Swainsboro, Dylan Durrence, Destiny Durrence, Raegan Nail, Rachel Nail, Bradley Balkcom and Nicholas Balkcom, all of Reidsville.
Funeral services for Mr. Rabun G. Way will be held Sunday, December 13, 2015 at 3:00 PM at Stewart-Rosier Funeral Service Vidalia Chapel with Reverend Bill Lee, Reverend Wayne Durden and Reverend Randall Gibbs officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Vernon Memorial Cemetery with Reverend Marc Foster officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday evening from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donation can be made to College Hill Baptist Church in Mt. Vernon.
