Mrs. Joyce Leggett Parker, age 98, of Lyons died Saturday morning, October 17, 2015 at The Oaks at Bethany Nursing Home of Vidalia after a brief illness.  

Joyce was a native of Appling County and had lived most of her life in Lyons.  She retired from Oxford at the age of 80 after many years of service.  She was a member of Eastern Star; an avid gardener and she loved to fish.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Edward Clegg Parker; two sons, Charles and Ernest Parker; and her daughter, Coleen Parker.

Joyce is survived by two daughters, Martha Abernathy of Lyons and Betty Parker of Savannah; five grandchildren, Brad Parker, Lisa Elsberry, Denise Brown, Leah Falls, and Rebekah Abernathy; ten great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Graveside Funeral Services for Mrs. Joyce Leggett Parker will be held Monday, October 19, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Lakeview Memorial Gardens with Reverend Leon Manuel officiating.  Interment will follow.
