Mrs. Shirley Rushing Stanley, age 80, passed away peacefully Wednesday night June 24, 2015 at Meadows Park Health and Rehab of Vidalia after an extended illness.
She was native of Toombs County, resided in Savannah for many years and returned to Toombs County in 1974. She was a member of English Eddy Presbyterian Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband Ray Stanley; her parents D.C. and Alma Rushing and her grandson Tyler Stewart
She is survived by her children; Cindy Greathouse and husband Tom of Duluth, David Stanley of Lyons, Trina S. Pittman and husband Danny of Hephzibah, and Byron Stanley and wife Janet of Mt. Vernon; her sister Betty Rushing Tapley of Lyons; 5 grandchildren, Meghan Greathouse, Hunter Pittman, Eric Pittman, Ryan Pittman, and Anna Stanley; four great-grandchildren, Abigail Pittman, Ansley Pittman, Luke Pittman and Reese Pittman; and a future great-grandchild to be.
Funeral service for Mrs. Shirley Rushing Stanley will be held Saturday, June 27, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Stewart-Rosier Funeral Service Lyons Chapel with Reverend Eric Pittman officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening from 6 until 8 PM.
