Mr. Robert “Bo” Franklin, age 53, of Mt. Vernon died Friday morning May 8, 2015 at his residence after a sudden illness.  

Mr. Franklin was born in Germany, raised in Glenwood and had resided in Mt. Vernon for the past 35 years.   He was a contractor and was employed at Farmers John Inc. of Alma.  He was Catholic by Faith.  

Bo is preceded in death by his father Benny Franklin, his mother Sophie Burke and his sister Christina Ely.

He is survived by his wife, Melinda Franklin of Mt. Vernon; his son, Ben Franklin and Fiancé Brenda Lyons of Mt. Vernon; his daughter Bridget Franklin and boyfriend Daniel Paul of Mt. Vernon; and three sisters, Margret Brantley and husband Paul of Uvalda, Missy Moore of Vidalia, and Sadonna Burkett and Husband Marty of Gray’s Landing. Several nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

Memorial Services will be held on Thursday, May 14, 2015 at 10:00 am at Bear Creek Baptist Church with Reverend Owen Waters officiating.  The family will receive friends at the Church on Thursday morning from 9:30 am until the hour of the service.
