Mr. Robert Gilmer, age 55, of Lyons died early Friday morning October 3, 2014, at his residence after an sudden illness.  

Mr. Gilmer was a native of Conyers, GA, where he spent most of his life; he moved to Lyons a year and a half ago. He was a heating and air technician, and a member of Bethel Baptist Church of Blackshear.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents Robert and Bonnie Mae Gilmer.

He is survived by his wife Tracy Gilmer of Lyons; son Robert Gilmer Jr. of Missouri; daughter Christina Thomas of Texas; step-son Calvin White of Albany; step- daughter Marie White of Albany; two brothers Mike Gilmer and wife Dianne of Monroe, and Don Gilmer and wife Carol Ann of Monroe; sister Diane Rudeseal and husband Jarrell of Monroe; sister-in-law Terry Scott of Lyons; three grandchildren; and 4 step- grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mr. Robert Gilmer will be held on October 7, 2014, at 11:00 AM at Stewart-Rosier Funeral Service Lyons Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday evening from 6-8 PM.
