W.H. “Bill” Peterson, age 79, of Lyons died Wednesday, March 12, 2014, at Meadows Regional Medical Center, of Vidalia after a brief illness.

Bill was a native of Montgomery County, and he resided most of his life in Toombs County. He was a retired commercial construction superintendent, who supervised many construction projects. Some of the local projects include:  Ronnie L. Stewart Funeral Service, Vidalia Federal Savings Bank and Trust, Vidalia First United Methodist Church, and Hollis Apartments. He was Baptist by faith.

Mr. Peterson is survived by his wife, Marion Peterson, of Lyons; one son, Andy Peterson and wife Christy, of Vidalia; three daughters, Cathy DuPree and husband Steve, of Lyons, Cindy Pittman and husband Michael, of Jasper, FL,  Connie Ingle and husband Britt, of Soperton; one brother Gene Peterson, of Alston, two sisters Lene Arnold, and Anne Sisson; five grandchildren Beth Pittman, Kayla Peterson, Zeke DuPree, McKenzie Ingle, and Caleb Bennett.

Funeral services for Mr. Bill Peterson will be held Saturday March 15, 2014, at 3:00 PM at Stewart-Rosier Funeral Service Vidalia Chapel with Reverend Jason Corbett and Reverend B.L Horne officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday March 14, 2014, from 6-8 PM.
