Mrs. Anne West, age 62, of Mt. Vernon died Thursday, January 16, 2014 at her residence after a sudden illness.  

Mrs. West was a native of Wheeler County and had resided in Mt. Vernon for the past 5 ½ years.  She was a homemaker and Baptist by Faith.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Bessie Johnson, her brother, Thad Johnson and her sister, Barbara Andrews.

She is survived by her husband Wendell R. West of Mt. Vernon; her daughter, Wendy Deese and husband David of Dublin; two sons, Wendell West Jr. of Mt. Vernon and Jason West of Mt. Vernon; two sisters, Faye Smith of Glenwood and Sandra Payton of Glenwood; and seven grandchildren.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Anne West will be held Sunday, January 19, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Stewart-Rosier Funeral Service Vidalia Chapel with Reverend W.R. Connell officiating.  Interment will follow in Mt. Vernon Memorial Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday evening from 6 – 8 PM.
