Mr. Lucien Joyce, age 89, of Glenwood died early Thursday morning, May 16, 2013 at Ogeechee Hospice of Statesboro after a brief illness.  

Mr. Joyce was a native of Jeff Davis County and lived most of his life in Glenwood.  He was a retired agriculture teacher and a member of Hope Baptist Church.

Mr. Joyce is preceded in death by his daughter, Esther Stewart in 2012.

Mr. Joyce is survived by his wife, Nell Joyce of Glenwood; his son, Ricky Joyce and wife Effie of Waynesboro; his son-in-law, Gene Stewart of Wadley; his brother, Vivian Joyce of Glenwood; three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, the family request donations on behalf of Mr. Joyce be made to:  Ogeechee Hospice, 200 Donehoo St. Statesboro, GA 30458.
