Mr. Ronald E. Williams, age 79, of 453 Williams Road, Vidalia, died Wednesday afternoon, February 27, 2013 at Community Hospice of Vidalia after an extended illness.
Mr. Williams was a native of Brooks County and had lived in Vidalia since 1974. He was a retired banker, served in the United States Army, a former member of the Kiwanis Club and a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church of Blackshear.
Ronald was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Janie Williams, in 2008.
Mr. Williams is survived by his spouse, Jean Williams of Blackshear; two sons, Kevin Williams and wife Deborah of Vidalia, Philip Williams and wife Bronwyn of Claxton; one daughter, Marshia Pierce and husband Rodney of Vidalia; two step-sons, Danny Wilder of Nemo, TX and Darrell Wilder of Valdosta; one brother, Bobby Williams of Quitman; two sisters, Kathryn Jarvis of Valdosta and Alice Faye Clark of Thomasville. Eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral Services for Mr. Ronald E. Williams will be held Sunday, March 3, 2013 at 3:00 PM at Vidalia First Baptist Church with Reverend Douglas M. Reddick of Valdosta and Reverend Don Moye officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Garden with Military Honors. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6 until 8 PM at Vidalia First Baptist Church.
