Betty Cook, age 68, of 657 West Liberty Ave., Lyons, died Tuesday, January 1, 2013 at UHS Bethany of Vidalia after a brief illness.

Mrs. Cook was a native of Montgomery County and lived most of her life in Gray’s Landing.  She attended Emmanuel Baptist Church in Lyons.

She is preceded in death by her husband Herbert Cook; four children, Angela Hullender, Brenda Hullender, Peggy Hullender and Randall Hullender; two sisters, Elizabeth Tuberville and Wynette Heckle and one brother, Curtis Taylor.

Survivors include one son, Rex Hullender and wife Michelle of Glenville; three sisters, Maglene Baird of Lyons, Glenda Stroud of Kibbee and Diane Duberly of Hazlehurst.  Two grandchildren, Marrisa Hullender and Montana Hullender, both of Eastman also survive.

Funeral Services for Betty Cook will be held on Thursday, January 3, 2013 from the Chapel of Ronnie L. Stewart Funeral Service at 11:00 AM with Reverend Danny Zorn officiating.  Interment will follow in the Smyrna United Methodist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 pm Wednesday evening.
