Mr. Stanley Cooper, age 57 of 307 Cooper Lane, Mt. Vernon, died on Monday October 22, 2012 at his residence after a sudden illness.  Mr. Cooper was a native of Atlanta, lived in Florida and most recently he resided in Montgomery County.  He was Baptist by faith.

He was preceded in death by his father Melton Cooper in 1996 and his son Toby Robert Cooper in 2003.  Survivors include his mother Nell Cooper, of Mount Vernon; one daughter, Angel Cooper of Canton Illinois, two brothers Wayne Cooper and Robbie Cooper both of Mount Vernon and one sister Sheila Herren of Alma. Five grandchildren also survive. 

Memorial services for Mr. Stanley Cooper will be held Thursday October 25, 2012 at 2:00 pm at Bear Creek Baptist Church near Mount Vernon with Reverend Owen Waters officiating.
