Joan G. Lyles, age 61 of 177 N. Jefferson St. Extension, Lyons, died late Wednesday night, August 8, 2012 at Community Hospice in Vidalia after an extended illness.

Joan was a native of Lyons and lived in Wheeler County for many years before returning to Lyons in 1985. Joan was a bank teller for most of her life and in recent years was owner and operator of Magic Moment Bridal Shop in Vidalia. She was also a member of the Glenwood United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Ted Lyles of Lyons; a son, Matt Lyles of Garden City; two daughters, Laurie Stuckey of Vidalia and Joni Durden of Lyons; a sister, Tammy Mitchell of Lumber City; five grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services for Joan G. Lyles will be held at 11 am Saturday, August 11, 2012 at the Glenwood United Methodist Church with Reverend Brian Durden officiating. Burial will follow in the Glenwood City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 pm until 8 pm Friday night at the funeral home.
