Mrs. Virginia Moseley “Jenny” Duncan, age 89, of Savannah died Sunday morning, December 15, 2013 at St. Joseph Hospital of Savannah after an extended illness.
Jenny was a native of Montgomery County and had resided in Savannah for the past 30 years. She was the owner/operator of Virginia’s Beauty Shop in Savannah and was Methodist by faith.
Mrs. Duncan is preceded in death by her parents, Will and Daisy Moseley.
Jenny is survived by her husband, Neil M. Duncan of Savannah; her daughter, Connie Anderson and husband Toney of Shellmans Bluff; and her granddaughter Christina Slade of Las Angeles CA.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Virginia Moseley “Jenny” Duncan will be held Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at 2:00PM at Ronnie L. Stewart Funeral Service Chapel of Vidalia with Reverend Robbie Rosier officiating. Interment will follow in Sharpe Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 noon until the hour of the service.

"Dean" was a sweet and loving person. I can recall many wonderful visits with her and Aunt Daisy at my grandmother's house (Mary and Arthur McNeal). She was always a jolly person and loved to visit with us. She was very proud of her children and a great daughter to Aunt Daisy. She will be missed by all that knew her. Love and prayers, Josie M. Dean often visited my parents, Avery and Mildred Sellers. She always was a joy to see. My mother has often said she wanted to see her again, but at 91 my mother doesn't travel beyond Hazlehurst. I regret that we don't see more of our extended family. To her family I just want to say Dean was a sweet and enjoyable person.

I am the niece of my Aunt Virginia, and I live in Texas. My late father Charles Edward Moseley was her younger brother. He was the tenth child of eleven that Willie & Daisy Moseley raised.
Most of my sweetest memories of Aunt Virginia were when she was younger and raising her family. She and Uncle Charles Courson were just so much fun to be around. She was always ready for a party, and she was the life of one too! We always had the best times visiting them in Brunswick.
And of course, I remember her speeding up to the farm in her pink cadillac over those Georgia red clay dirt roads. Before she topped the hill, we always knew she was coming from the huge cloud of red dust trailing her.
To me, Virginia seemed bigger than life during those early times and truly seemed to enjoy her time here on earth. And even as she got older and had health issues, she was still cheerful at least when I visited or phoned her. I will miss her and her laugh and the farm that she loved - well, the farm that all of us loved. I am saddened that she is gone and the farm is sold. She was the last of that generation. I think of all eleven kids as chapters in a book. Now with Aunt Virginia's passing, it's like a book has ended... tammy.basso@hotmail.com
