Mr. William Grover Glisson, age 73, of Petross, died Monday, July 27, 2020 at Community Hospice of Vidalia after an extended illness. William was a native and lifelong resident of Toombs County. He was a retired auto mechanic by trade and was Christian by faith. William was an avid fisherman and loved racing in his free time.
William is preceded in death by his lovely wife Phillis Ann Glisson; his parents Eugene and Juanita Glisson, and two brothers, Henry Glisson and Bill Tomlin.
William is survived by two sons, Timothy Glisson (Mishon) of Tampa FL, Roger Watson of Atlanta; two daughters, Sheila Plante (Francis) of Plainville KS, Melanie Johnson (Jeffrey) of Vidalia; one brother Stacy Glisson of Plainville, KS; three sisters, Winnelle Colburn of Downs KS, Selena Rogers of Salina KS, and Yvonne Slicker of Lakeland FL. Eleven Grandchildren and numerous Great- Grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. William Grover Glisson will be held Thursday July 30, 2020 at 3:00 PM in the Vidalia chapel of Ronnie L Stewart Funeral Service with Pastor Steven Toole and Duane Tomlin officiating.
Interment will follow at Smryna United Methodist Church.
Family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday July 29, 2020 in the Vidalia Chapel of Ronnie L Stewart Funeral Home from 6:00 Pm to 8:00 PM.
Ronnie L. Stewart Funeral Service Vidalia Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Melanie & Family, I am so sorry you lost your Dad & I lost my Brother. May be rest in peace with your Beautiful Mom in Heaven. I love you all very much & wish I could be there with you.

Timmy and Roger, so sorry to hear of William's passing. I know he was a good father to you. I went to school with him and Phyllis and always enjoyed running into them around town. Remember your happy times with hi. Love you, Ms. Sue
