Mr. Charles McCumbers Jr, age 78, of Oak Park died late Monday evening, June 11, 2018 at Pruitt Healthcare Nursing facility of Savannah after a long illness.
Mr. McCumbers was a native of Blackshear living most of his life in Lyons and Oak Park GA; and was a retired Truck Driver. He loved fishing and spending time on the river. Charles was an avid traveler, loved to read the bible, and loved spending time with his children. He was a member of Rock Worship Center in Stillmore.
Mr. McCumbers was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Lois McCumbers; his daughter Wanda McCumbers; his brother, Wayne McCumbers and his sisters, Carolyn McCumbers and Virginia McCumbers.
Charles is survived by his daughter, Jessica McCumbers Hall (Gregory) of Burnside Island; his son, William Alan “Buddy” McCumbers of Rincon; the mother of his three children, Diane McCumbers; three grandchildren, Victoria McCumbers, Emilie McCumbers and Alyssa Hall; three brothers Lonnie McCumbers (Debbie) of Jacksonville Fla., Charles Eugene McCumbers of Savannah and Jackie McCumbers (Vickie) of Soperton; and his sister Betty Jo Collins of Oak Park.
Funeral services for Mr. Charles McCumbers Jr. will be held Sunday, June 17, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at Stewart - Rosier Funeral Service Lyons Chapel of Lyons GA with Reverend Robbie Rosier officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation Sunday at Stewart-Rosier Funeral Service Lyons Chapel from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM.
