Mr. Marcelo Gonzalez, age 52, of Lyons died Friday, May 12, 2017, under the care of Community Hospice at Meadows Park Health and Rehab of Vidalia after an extended illness. Mr. Marcelo was a native of Mexico, lived in Florida for 13 years, and had resided in Lyons the past 19 years. Mr. Marcelo worked at M&T Farms of Lyons and was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Vidalia.
Mr. Marcelo is survived by his spouse of 32 years, Sara Gonzalez of Lyons; father, Juan Gonzalez of Mexico; two sons, Fernando and Marcelo Gonzalez Jr., both of Lyons; his daughter, Melissa Gonzalez of Lyons; two brothers, Navor Gonzalez Contreras of Lyons and Maximiliano Gonzalez of Mexico; two sisters, Josefina and Juana Gonzalez, both of Mexico; and his grandchild, Adelina Rosalie Gonzalez of Lyons.
A Funeral Mass for Mr. Marcelo Gonzalez will be held Tuesday, May 16, 2017, at 2:00 pm at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Ben Dallas officiating. Interment will follow in Mexico at a later date. The family will receive friends at the Stewart-Rosier Funeral Service Lyons Chapel Tuesday immediately following the Mass until 10:00 PM at Stewart-Rosier Funeral Service Lyons Chapel.
Stewart-Rosier Funeral Service Lyons Chapel is in charge of funeral arrangements.

To Marcello's family,
We are so sad to learn of Marcello's death. We had known him for several years and found him to be such a good person and always had a happy smile on his face.
I have a great picture of Marcello taken several years ago when he was helping us with a project. I will make a copy for you.
