Mrs. Gaynell McCumbers, 71, of Oak Park, died Monday morning, December 26, 2016, at her residence after an extended illness.
Mrs. McCumbers was a native of Oak Park and resided in Waycross and Florida several years before returning to Oak Park many years ago. Mrs. McCumbers was a homemaker and Baptist by faith.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Sheila Garrett, earlier in 2016.
Survivors include her husband, Charles Eugene McCumbers of Oak Park; son, William (Buddy) Turner of Hilliard, Florida; three daughters, Shannon Stephens of Oak Park, Christina Velte of Valdosta and Stephanie Taylor of Fayetteville, Alabama; and two sisters, Dellis Sinclair and Linda Velte.
Funeral services for Mrs. Gaynell McCumbers will be held at Stewart-Rosier Funeral Service Lyons Chapel on Friday, December 30, 2016 at 2:00 PM with Reverend Ray Woods officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Park City Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, December 30, at Stewart-Rosier Funeral Service Lyons Chapel from 10:00 AM until the hour of the service.
Stewart-Rosier Funeral Service Lyons Chapel is in charge of funeral arrangements.
